Welcome back to term 5 and the start of our wonderful Summer Term.
Term 5 and 6 are full with many special and memorable events. We look forward to seeing as many parents/carers as possible at these!

Summer Uniform
We are pleased to share that summer uniform may now be worn. A reminder of our school summer uniform:
-Summer dresses are light blue and white checked
-Shorts/skirts should be grey
-Socks should be grey or white
-Sandals may be worn and can be either black, blue or white. For health and safety reasons, sandals must have a secure strap around the heel. No crocs.

Uniform reminders
Polite reminders, we do not allow nail polish, temporary tattoos or make-up to be worn at school.
Stud earrings and a watch are the only jewellery allowed at school and must be removed for PE lessons.

Assessments this term
Term 5 and 6 are our assessment terms at Hambrook. Please ensure your child is in school each and every day unless they are unwell. A reminder about key assessment dates happening this term:
-Year 6 SATs week Monday 13th May ending on Friday 17th May
-Year 2 assessments starting on the 6th May.
-Year 4 Times Table Checks happening during the week of the 5th June.
-Year 1 Phonics Checks happening during the week of the 10th June.

Holidays in term time
A polite reminder that we do not authorise any holidays in term time. We recommend all parents/carers read our Attendance Policy and are familiar with it. It is important that all parents/carers understand that if you choose to take your child/ren out of school for a holiday in term time you may be issued with a fine from the Local Authority. Our policy includes more details on this.
Please be aware that the school does not provide work for pupils who take holiday in term time.

Welcome New Governors
A warm welcome to Jacob Ashcroft and Lara Loomes who have recently joined us as new governors. Jacob and Lara will be working alongside our existing governors to continue to develop our school to be the best it can.

Stay and Read
We are looking forward to welcoming parents to our Stay and Read event on Wednesday 26th June. No booking necessary, just come along on the day. Parents with more than one child are welcome to split their time between classes.

Meditation Lessons
At Hambrook Primary School we are deeply committed to the wellbeing of our children. One way we seek to improve our children's wellbeing and lifelong welling is through our meditation lessons. We are extremely lucky at Hambrook to have Mrs. Bassett-Lowe on our teaching team. As well as being a fantastic teacher she is also a qualified meditation teacher.
Each term Mrs Bassett-Lowe teaches two classes meditation lessons. Please see the timetable below for the terms each class will be working with Mrs. Bassett-Lowe.

Come in and see your child's learning - reminder dates
Parents/carers are warmly invited into school on the following dates to sit with your child and look through their books and see their learning in their classroom.

Tuesday 2nd July 3.20pm-4.00pm
These sessions replace us sending home books before parents evenings.
No need to book, simply turn up on the day. Parents with more than one child are welcome to split their time between classes.

Safe Parking
Please can we ask all parents/carers to take care when driving around our school and park safely. Please use parking around the common and walk to the school gates, dropping off children by our gates is dangerous and puts our children at risk.
We encourage parents with parking and driving concerns around the school to report this directly to South Gloucestershire Council Street Care Team who are responsible for the roads and safety around school. You can contact them:
