New Chair of Governors- David Jenkins

We are pleased to share with you all that we have a new Chair of Governors, David Jenkins. David is a highly experienced Chair of Governors and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge.  David regularly spends time in school for governing body meetings but also regularly volunteers his time working in the classrooms to support our pupils.

A message from David

The role of governors is to monitor the work of Mrs. Rubel and her team ensuring that their high standard of education provision is maintained, ensure financial stability and set and maintain the vision and values of the school.

I am so excited to be elected as Chair of Governors of this great school. I am often in school and have worked with many of the children who are always happy and polite. They are a credit to you as parents and carers.

A BIG THANK YOU

We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to our amazing parent volunteers that make Hambrook an even better place to be!

Thank you to Dr. Fogg Rogers gives up her time each week to lead the after-school Environmental Club. Teaching our children (and families) the importance of outdoor learning and the world around us. Thank you Dr. Fogg Rogers we are so grateful!

There has been a buzz of our school library this term with our amazing parent volunteers. Each day two parents volunteer in the school library helping our children develop a love of reading and helping them to check in and out their books in our library system. Thank you all for your commitment to supporting our children and their love of reading!

Our wonderful PTA and volunteers have provided so many wonderful opportunities for our children this year from fundraising to cover the cost of our coaches for trips to paying for our new dinning room tables as well as putting on excellent events for us all. Thank you all for your continued support of our fantastic school!

Hambrook Sports Day

We are excited to be celebrating sports day with you all this year.

Keeping up to date

We are excited to share with you all that Hambrook now has a Facebook page. Please follow us to keep up to date with the fantastic learning happening at Hambrook! We are keeping our Twitter page and will be posting identical content to both platforms so parents/carers only need to follow one account to stay up to date.

Hambrook Science Fair

Last term Hambrook enjoyed the return of our Science Fair. Organised by Mrs. Cranstone (our Science Leader) the event was a great success!

Message from Mrs. Cranstone

As part of its whole school Science Week, Hambrook Primary School welcomed visitors to its Science Fair on Tuesday 28th March.

All pupils were given the option to take part and the number of participants was phenomenal, we had entrants from every year group. There were three categories, Key Stage One entries, Key Stage Two entries and sibling entries.

Each entrant thought of a ‘big question’ to try and answer by working scientifically.  The questions were very imaginative and ranged from ‘Which is the germiest classroom?’ to ‘Can a boat run on soap?’ and ’How does the heart pump blood around the body?’

Pupils presented their investigations in creative ways, there were posters, photos, videos and plenty of demonstrations for visitors to watch and also take part in themselves.  A huge amount of effort was made by all.

It was a fascinating and incredibly successful afternoon.  There was so much science to explore and a real buzz in the school.  Well done to all who took part.  We are already looking forward to making even more of our Science Fair next year!
